CYCLITE x Canyon: Exclusive Partnership

As Canyon's exclusive development partner, CYCLITE has developed an ultralight, fully integrated bag system for the new generation of the Canyon Grail. An international collaboration that drew on every aspect of our expertise in ultracycling, bikepacking and racing.

CYCLITE stands for maximum performance at the lowest possible weight and is a leading brand in ultracycling and bikepacking. Our products are made for long distances, intense demands and situations where every gram and every detail matters.

This was exactly the kind of experience required when developing the new Grail. Together with Canyon, we created an exceptionally lightweight bag system that integrates seamlessly into the shape of the race gravel bike and meets the high demands of competition.

From the initial idea through prototypes and testing to the final production solution, the project was about more than simply adding storage. Visually, aerodynamically and functionally, the bags needed to feel like an integral part of the bike.

The centrepiece of the collaboration is the CYCLITE x Canyon MIDLOADER. The new Canyon Grail is available in seven frame sizes, with a matching version developed for each one. This ensures that the bag sits flush and fits precisely within the frame, regardless of frame size.

Its central position within the frame triangle and specially developed side flaps support its aerodynamic integration. The particularly low-profile zip with Aeroslider has also been designed to keep the entire construction as minimal and streamlined as possible.

The result is not a universal frame bag, but a tailored solution developed specifically for the new generation of the Canyon Grail.

One special detail is the push-to-release system developed by CYCLITE. A simple and secure mechanism at the rear of the bag allows the MIDLOADER to be installed and removed in a single motion.

Separate internal compartments help organise the contents. A protected opening also allows a cable or hose to be routed out of the bag.

Depending on the frame size, the CYCLITE x Canyon MIDLOADER weighs approximately 100 grams. This makes it around 200 grams lighter than the MIDLOADER for the previous Grail generation.

Canyon also examined its aerodynamic impact. Wind tunnel testing showed no detectable negative impact on the bike's aerodynamic performance with the MIDLOADER installed.

The low weight is not an end in itself. It is part of a system in which the material, fit and handling have been consistently tailored to use on the Grail.

The MIDLOADER is complemented by the CYCLITE x Canyon TOP TUBE BAG. It sits directly behind the stem on the designated mounting points on the top tube, providing quick access to nutrition, smaller equipment and other essentials.

The TOP TUBE BAG is also designed around the flattest and most seamless possible integration with the bike. Its shape is precisely tailored to the Grail and provides storage in a position that remains easy to reach while riding.

The MIDLOADER and TOP TUBE BAG are available in Light Grey and visually coordinated with the design of the new Canyon Grail.

For CYCLITE, the exclusive development partnership with Canyon is an important milestone. Since our founding in 2020, we have been developing ultralight transport solutions for bikepacking and ultracycling in Grassau. Our products are tested in real-world use by our team, our athletes and the founders themselves.

The collaboration demonstrates that this experience is also in demand when developing highly integrated solutions for modern race gravel bikes. For the new Grail, an international company such as Canyon relies on CYCLITE's expertise in bag development.
