Benjamin Schmetz

Benjamin Schmetz is at home in the world of off-road ultra cycling and looks back on a long journey in endurance sports. Exercise has been an integral part of his life since childhood. In his early twenties, he began to increasingly focus on endurance challenges. With each successfully completed challenge, his desire for an even greater one grew. Long solo rides eventually led him to ultra cycling.

His athletic development is marked by demanding international races. His most significant achievements include victory at the 2025 Italy Divide, third place at the 2025 Alps Divide, and second place at the 2024 Race Around Rwanda. For Benjamin, however, ultra-cycling is much more than just the results. It's the interplay of physical exertion, mental strength, sleep management, equipment, and experience that continually motivates him.

Benjamin deliberately seeks out challenging formats and extreme conditions. He is motivated by the question of where his personal limits lie and how far they can be pushed. At the same time, he pursues a clear, reflective approach. Experience, self-confidence, and a deep understanding of his own setup define his races, as does the ability to continuously improve.

Cyclite is a perfect fit for Benjamin's philosophy for three reasons. Reliability is essential in the off-road sector. Added to that is a shared mindset, driven by a genuine passion for cycling and a deep understanding of bikepacking. Lightweight construction is a key performance factor for him, because a light bike means efficiency and speed over many days.

Mindset: "Ride as much or as little, as long or as short as you feel. But ride."
