Jair Hoogland is at home in the world of ultra-distance cycling and driven by a strong curiosity for new routes and unfamiliar regions. What began with exploring his local area gradually evolved into ever longer distances. A bikepacking trip from the Netherlands to Porto became a turning point, opening the door to the world of ultra racing.

Since then, Jair has regularly competed in international long-distance races. Top ten finishes at the VIA Race, the Unknown Race, and the Race Through Poland, as well as a podium finish at the Race Around the Netherlands, underscore his consistent high level of performance. Results are important to him, but they are never his sole focus. The experience of crossing new countries and gaining new perspectives along the way is a central part of his motivation.

Jair is a passionate outdoor cyclist, riding year-round. He loves long days in the saddle and the freedom his bike gives him. For him, bikepacking races mean intensity, little sleep, and consciously immersing himself in situations far removed from everyday life. Adventure, for him, arises where the unknown, exertion, and openness converge.
