Here, she shares her insights into life, motivation, and her exciting journey as part of the CYCLITE family.
Who are you?
I’m a mother, wife, and adventurer. I’m passionate about being in nature and collecting meaningful moments with my family. I love challenges – the tougher, the better! Taking on challenges, solving them, and giving my best is simply who I am.
What does bikepacking mean to you?
Bikepacking is freedom. It’s an opportunity to connect with myself – I feel like I was made for it. I love exploring, adventuring, and being self-sufficient. It’s the best way to enjoy nature, discover new places, meet people, and learn about their stories and cultures. Every kilometer in bikepacking offers a chance to learn something new – about the route, the people, or my own resilience.
How do you train for races and events?
Training in Brazil prepares you for anything the world can throw at you. The terrain is varied, with tough climbs and extreme conditions – rain, sub-zero temperatures, and over 40°C heat, often all in one day as you ride through our mountains and forests. I embrace mental challenges, so this doesn’t faze me.
How do you prepare for a race?
I like to be thoroughly prepared. I study every detail – the map, the route, and my competitors. My gear has to perform as well as I do physically. I’m serious about this – poor equipment can ruin a good race strategy. Winning isn’t just about being the fastest; it’s about being strategic. I also love the adrenaline rush. :)
What’s your main motivation?
Freedom, challenges, and exploration keep me going. There isn’t a single reason – it’s simply a part of who I am. I can’t imagine stopping!
Is there a special moment that stands out for you?
I’ve experienced many incredible moments as an athlete, but the ones that stay with me are sunrises and sunsets. These moments are so special – they always give me fresh energy.
What’s your favorite CYCLITE bag?
The large top tube bag – it’s your best friend during long races.
What did you learn from last season?
2023 was an amazing year – I won both the Bikingman Brasil and Across Andes.
As for 2024, it wasn’t a packed race season, but I made nutrition mistakes in my main events (Badlands and Bikingman). Even so, I achieved good results and learned a lot. I believe we’re ready to go full throttle into the next season!
What are your plans for the 2025 season?
My goal is to enjoy races more and find balance – staying relaxed but not losing focus.
Planned races:
- Bikingman 555 Mantiqueira
- Bikingman 555 Serra Geral
- Bikingman Brasil
I’ll likely only race in Brazil next year.
In 2025, I’ll also step into a new role as the organizer of two races, Gravel Hills (550 km and 250 km), which will take place in July here in Brazil.
What’s your superpower?
My superpower is that I never give up. I just keep going. Is that a good thing? What do you think?
